VSM Lite Trainer Lab Worksheet + Swimlane Map

Classroom lab for Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Learners classify steps as Value Added (VA), Business-Value Added (BVA), or Non-Value Added (NVA). Instructor timings and defect rates are locked.
For instructors: pick a scenario, let teams classify, then “Check Answers” to score and debrief.
Metrics use Processing Time (PT), Waiting Time (WT), and defect rate for Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY).

Scenario Library (10)

Bands: A = 8–10 steps, B = 15–20, C = 25–30, D = ~40. Mix of service, healthcare, manufacturing, and transactional flows.

Select a scenario to begin

VA = Value Added BVA = Business-Value Added NVA = Non-Value Added
Value-Added ratio = Value-Added Processing Time (VA PT) / Lead Time (LT). Lead Time (LT) is the sum of Processing Time (PT) and Waiting Time (WT). Queue ratio = Waiting Time (WT) / Lead Time (LT).
